Culture Perth & Kinross -

Culture Perth and Kinross is now five!

Launching in 2016, the mission of the cultural trust was to develop and deliver a range of creative and innovative services, public programmes and partnerships which collaborate and engage with a wide and diverse audience in the best of local, national and international culture.

In those five years a lot has happened in the world, the cultural sector, our organisation and across the economic landscape.

From the Soutar Festival of Words to five innovative digital Maker_Spaces and from the Monarch of the Glen to Bonnie Prince Charlie; with local communities at its heart, Culture Perth and Kinross has successfully hosted exhibitions and festivals; provided a platform for authors and artists; and, introduced new technologies, equipment and other digital devices, inventing, playing and creating with the people of Perth and Kinross.

This year the charity will take to social media to celebrate key milestones in the absence of an in-person celebration. Memorable events and achievements from the last five years chosen by staff will be shared across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Helen Smout, Chief Executive said, “Five years have passed exceptionally quickly and whilst this last year has undoubtedly been the toughest we’ve faced, the passion and kindness of our visitors and service users is at the heart of our success. Their continued support and the creativity and ambition of everyone in the CPK Team, both staff and the Board, fills me with enormous pride and makes me hopeful and excited for the next five years and all that we will achieve together in that time.”

Culture Perth and Kinross looks forward to continuing to work across the cultural sector at a local, national, and international level. As reopening and plans develop the organisation is asking everyone to share their views and are asking  ‘what five things you would like to see from the organisation in the next five years?’.
