Have your say as Perth and Kinross libraries launch consultation

Culture Perth & Kinross -

Library users and residents of Perth and Kinross will have an opportunity to help shape the future of their library service by taking part in a six week consultation this autumn.

The public consultation is open from 15 October to 27 November 2018 and will ask residents, users and other interested parties their views on a range of proposals set out in the five year Library Strategy. Residents are encouraged to complete the online questionnaire and attend drop in sessions that will be held in libraries throughout Perth and Kinross, as the library service looks at ways to deliver services that will meet the needs of users in the future.

The Strategy sets out a vision for the library service ‘to be a service that listens and responds to community need, is committed to promoting literacy in all forms and works in partnership and collaboratively to challenge and inspire individuals, communities and staff.’

The strategy identifies five priority areas which confirm what library services will continue to do; the vision for future services; and, how new priorities will be delivered over the next 5 years.

Morag Kelly, Head of Libraries at Culture Perth and Kinross said

“The Library Strategy sets out a direction for the future of libraries in Perth and Kinross. I am keen that everyone with an interest should have the opportunity to comment on the Strategy.”

Residents wishing to have a say on the proposals raised should visit our website or visit their local library to fill out a questionnaire. Drop-in sessions are also being held across the area from October 15th. Details are available in all community libraries and from culturepk.org.uk/librariesconsultation.
