Culture Perth & Kinross -

Culture Perth and Kinross has been shortlisted for the Kids in Museums Family Friendly Museum Award, it was announced today.

Charity Kids in Museums has run a prestigious annual award for the past 15 years, recognising the most family-friendly heritage sites in the UK. It is the only museum award to be judged by families.

From April to June, families across the UK were invited to vote for their favourite heritage attraction and favourite digital activity on the Kids in Museums website. A panel of museum experts then whittled down hundreds of nominations to a shortlist of 20 heritage attractions.

Culture Perth and Kinross was recognised for its creation of CPK Play, a website designed to provide educational and fun, family-focused content with a strong focus on learning and engagement

Jordan Irvine, Senior Officer for Learning and Communities said ‘It has been an honour to be shortlisted by Kids in Museums for our CPK Play website. Our staff have worked tirelessly to create new content and resources to meet the needs of those learners and customers who love history and literature. Our new CPK Play website was the first step in redefining our digital engagement and allowing us to increase access to a wider range of people when the physical engagement was limited’.

Culture Perth and Kinross is vying against four other museums in the Best Digital Activity Category.

Over the summer holidays, family judges will try out all the shortlisted digital activities and their feedback will decide a winner. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in October.
