Get ready for a trip down memory lane this festive season as Perth Museum and Art Gallery unwrap a new exhibition exploring Christmas in Perthshire through the ages.

Offering an ideal family friendly experience this season, visitors, young and old, can reminisce about seasonal traditions and activities in Perthshire, through a series of photographs and objects from the collection, with interactive crafts available for children visiting the exhibition.

The exhibition, which will run until January 5 2019, is the latest to be launched by Culture Perth & Kinross and will open on Saturday, December 8 to coincide with the annual Perth Santa Run starting at the adjoining Mill Street Plaza. The museum is hoping to welcome as many Santas from the race as possible to create some seasonal fun, with the cultural charity hosting complimentary mince pies and candy canes to the first visitors through the doors. There will also be a live performance taking place in the museum after the race from the HorseCross Woodwind group ‘Blow and Blast’.

Staff from libraries and museums across Perth and Kinross will also be entering into the Christmas spirit and will be pulling on their Santa suits to run, jog or walk around Perth City centre to raise money for Perth Foodbank and Culture Perth and Kinross.

Members of the public can also help to fundraise through Just Giving at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/cpkrunners
Many thanks to the Dobbie’s Garden Centre in Perth for donating a Christmas tree to the Perth Christmas exhibition.
