From this week, Culture Perth and Kinross library members will be able to put their orders in for Click and Collect, at five new sites across the region.

Blairgowrie Library, which reopened to customers earlier in the summer, will start operating a Click and Collect service from 3rd September 2020.

The Collect and Collect service, which has already been used by over 1000 customers at the AK Bell Library in Perth, will also start operating from Alyth Library, Birnam Library, Comrie and Coupar Angus the following week. Due to the restrictions of the library buildings in Comrie and Coupar Angus, the new service will be delivered from one of the familiar Mobile Library vans.

Customers are able to reserve their books online via the library catalogue now, by making a request by email, [email protected] or calling the dedicated Click and Collect phone line (01738 444949) to place their order. Books will be able to be collected from the 7th September 2020 at Alyth and Birnam Library, as well as the charitable trusts Mobile Library vans which will be stopping at Comrie and Coupar Angus.

With the cultural trust’s e-library proving popular with library members, Click and Collect provides an additional offer by giving those who are still cautious about visiting public venues or do not have time to come into the library a new way to begin borrowing books again.

Library customers will be given a collection slot to allow them to collect their reserved books. Collections will be available at Blairgowrie Library on Thursdays 5pm – 7pm and Saturdays 2pm – 4pm. The remainder of the libraries start their Click and Collect service, from the week commencing 7th September, with Alyth and Birnam operating Thursdays 5pm – 7pm and Comrie and Coupar Angus operating Saturdays 10.30am – 12.30pm.

Due to social distancing requirements, it will not possible to enter the libraries in Alyth, Birnam, Comrie and Coupar Angus for browsing at this time.

The Click and Collect service must be booked in advance and customers can borrow up to 12 items for three weeks. Returned books are quarantined for 72 hours before being put back into circulation.
