We have just launched our Summer 2019 events for Culture Perth and Kinross.
In our museums, we’re opening Jacobite Clans on 29 June at Perth Museum and Art Gallery. In addition to this, we’re working with Belle Jones, a playwright, theatre-maker and poet from Inverness, to develop ICONS – Flora: Mother, Migrant, Survivor, which opens on July 6th. Sophie Gerrard will be continuing her personal project exploring the lives of women working with the Scottish landscape. Her work is contrasted with black and white images made by the late John Watt, a Perth photographer. You can see this in Drawn to the Land, which opens July 6th.
For our libraries, we’re blasting off into space for the Summer Reading Challenge. Inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing, we’re inviting you to visit your local library. From the 22nd of June, you can participate in the Space Chase challenge! Check out this page for the full list of events at your local library!
We’ve got a fantastic Movie Maker Summer Tech Camp at the AK Bell from the 13th – 15th August, where you can learn to capture, edit and share a film using a single iPad.
In our last Local History Workshops designed to introduce researchers to different aspects of local history research, our Assistant Archivist and Local History Officer will focus on primary (archival) sources available in the Archives and Local & Family History department, and how they can help your local history research. You can find out more information here.
